Let’s get moving

Getting Started

Exercise is not something that you have to set aside time for each day for or drive to a gym to do.

You can easily integrate small changes into your everyday life that will result in you clocking up important physical activity to burn energy, build muscle and make you healthier and fitter well releasing those endorphins to the brain.

No matter who you are you should be moving for at least 30 minutes or more a day doing any sort of physical activity or body movement.

Activity examples

  • Instead of taking the lift up to the office, take the stairs.

  • Instead of driving around and around to get a park right outside the supermarket or shop you are going to park at the back of the car park or a few blocks away and walk.

    • There are always more parks there anyway and you will likely save time not having to wait or drive circles.

  • Dance like nobody is watching.

  • Do you take the bus to work or school?

    • Get off a stop or two early and walk the rest of the way.

  • When you send you kids outside to play, go with them and join in.

  • Mow the lawns.

  • Walk to the end of the drive or corner.

  •  Get out in the garden

    •  Pull some weeds or get the potato patch ready for planting

  • Get out of the car and manually open the garage door

  • Meeting up with a friend for coffee?

    • Suggest going for a walk or go and play Frisbee or catch at the park

  • Get rid of your chair at work.

    • Get a standing work station or make one out of some filing boxes and text books
